Off the back of the global launch of Tourism New Zealand’s global campaign, “IF YOU SEEK”, 32 key travel sellers were invited to dig a little deeper and explore New Zealand.
The travel sellers from key visitor markets, North America, UK, Germany, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Korea and India began their visit at Pōwhiri at Piritahi Marae, before visiting Auckland, Northland, Rotorua, Waikato, Marlborough, Nelson, Wellington, Queenstown, Central Otago and Wānaka to experience tourism products and to better understand how to sell the regions to their clients.
The agents were selected after they completed a variety of tasks including attending virtual training webinars and interacting with trade programmes.
“Travel sellers equipped with destination knowledge are a key strategy Tourism New Zealand uses to attract high-quality visitors. Those who completed this famil will become valuable advocates for brand New Zealand and drive preference for New Zealand in market,” says Tourism New Zealand Chief Executive René de Monchy.
The travel sellers experienced a range of activities during the famil, from cultural to New Zealand scenery, including Redwoods Treewalk in Rotorua, dolphin watching in Bay of Islands and visiting Waitangi Treaty grounds.
IF YOU SEEK is Tourism New Zealand’s first global campaign since pre-covid and was launched in August 2022. The campaign aims to tap into the curiosity of high–quality travellers, who are adventurous and keen to dig beneath the surface of the places they visit whether on the beaten path or not.
